Labrador Retreivers

General Information

Labrador Retrievers are one of the most popular breeds in the United States.  They are frequently trained to help the blind, used as therapy dogs, and also trained for detection work in law enforcement.  They are eager to please, have great dispositions, and are very trainable.  The first reference to the breed was made in 1814.  They are intelligent, affectionate, friendly, and loyal.  They are considered to be a medium-large dog, ranging from 60 - 90 pounds, with short straight hair. Labradors have a reputation as a very even-tempered breed and an excellent family dog
